Mónica Štreitóva

Monika Duarte Štreitová Graduated from the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. At the same school she got her doctoral degree in interpreting contemporary music; her supervisor was Professor M. Jurkovič. She is now attending Post Doctoral studies at Aveiro University with scholarship of Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. In the year 2000 she was a grant holder on interpretation courses in Darmstadt, Germany, which she finished in the class of C. Levine. She also completed the contemporary flute interpretation courses in Debrecen, Hungary, led by I. Matuz. Since the beginning of her university studies she has been in close contact with contemporary composers, e.g. R. Berger, P. Oliveira Bachratá, Jean-Yves Bosseur, Boguslaw Schaffer, J. Guillou, Â. Lopes, V. Melo, Isabel Soveral, Sara Carvalho e J. P. Oliveira etc. She often premieres their works at international festivals of modern music most important. Monika now has over 100 premiere pieces in her repertoire. Thirteen of these were playd in Portugal. Among others, she has also worked with the radio stations BBC, ORF2 Vienna and BRB Berlin. Produced 5 a solo CD and 10 CD with various instrumental groups. Her recording “Luminiscencia” received the highest recognition of musical critics in Czech Radio. She has participated in concerts in Germany, Austria, Brazil, France, Hungary, Holland, England, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Portugal, among others.
